1. General

ScreenTutor processes only the data required to run your account, guides, and AI features.

2. Storage & processors

  • Supabase: account data, guides, steps, translations, and metadata. Privacy
  • Cloudflare R2: screenshots, videos, audio, and export files. Privacy
  • OpenAI: transcription, translation, text refinement, and TTS when requested by you. Privacy
  • ElevenLabs (optional): voice generation when enabled. Privacy
  • Render.com: background worker processing for podcast/audio rendering queues. Privacy
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions. Privacy
  • Google Analytics 4 (after consent): aggregated website usage insights. Privacy

Where required, data processing agreements (DPAs) apply.

3. Guide visibility

  • Private: visible only to owner/authorized users.
  • Public: visible via unique link.
  • Media URLs are hard to guess and not intended for indexing.

4. AI features

AI is used only when you explicitly trigger an AI action.

5. Usage monitoring & fair use

We log limited technical usage data for security, cost control, and reliability.

6. Audio & voice

Audio can be processed for transcription, optional per-language voiceovers, and background rendering jobs (including technical processing metadata).

7. Sharing & public links

You control if a guide is shared. Public links are accessible to anyone with the URL.

8. Deletion

When a guide is deleted, related active content is removed from storage.

9. Contact form & anti-spam security

Contact submissions may include limited metadata (IP/user-agent) for anti-spam, abuse prevention, and security.

10. Payments via Stripe

Payments and subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We store only required billing metadata.

11. Cookies

ScreenTutor uses functional cookies for session/login and security. Google Analytics 4 is only loaded after explicit consent via the cookie banner.

12. Controller & contact

ScreenTutor is the data controller. Privacy questions/requests can be submitted via the contact page.

13. Legal bases

We process data based on contract performance, legal obligations (e.g. accounting), legitimate interests (security/reliability/support), and consent where required.

14. Retention periods

We keep data only as long as needed: account/project data while active, support data up to 24 months, technical/security logs typically up to 12 months, and billing data according to legal retention duties.

15. Security measures

We apply technical and organizational safeguards, including TLS encryption in transit, access control, secret management, monitoring, and least-privilege practices.

16. Your rights

You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent (where applicable), and complaint to your supervisory authority.

17. International transfers

Some processors may process data outside the EEA. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as DPAs and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when services, processors, or legal requirements change. The latest version is always published on this page.
